What Are The Issues Facing Our Rivers?
Below are examples of how farming is impacting so badly on the ecology and fisheries of our rivers. At the current rate of (downward) progress many will not have any salmon or sea trout. Already some tributaries are devoid of fish life. These streams get frequent applications of raw slurry especially during wet winter months when cows are held indoors. There is simply too much slurry produced to manage within existing systems, laws and regulation.
