North Wales Rivers Trust have produced a fantastic film about their work to protect an ancient relative of the salmon. A specialist of deep, glacial lakes and found in just three llyns in North Wales, the Torgoch (literal translation: “red belly”) or Arctic char is an iconic survivor of the ice age.
These last three remaining Welsh populations face several, human-made threats including climate change and declining water quality.
